In Loving Memory
Andrey Malnic

Andrey Malnic, 88, of Vernon, BC passed away on March 19, 2025, at Vernon Jubilee
Hospital.
Andy was born on November 18 th , 1937, in Rocinj, Slovenia. He lived a life full of love,
kindness, and generosity, always putting family and friends first. He dedicated his life to his
family, friends, and his work as a maintenance and repair person for the railway and the
Department of National Defence. Playing and coaching soccer was his passion, and he gained a
good reputation for his high skill level and camaraderie both on and off the field. Besides
watching sports, Andy loved to read, do woodwork, fish, draw, and garden. Andy was well
known and admired for his helpfulness and keeping an eye on things in his South Vernon
neighborhood. He could always be counted on to assist friends and neighbors when called on.
After he retired in 1996, he could be seen walking daily in the neighborhood with his wife, Irma
Malnic (previously, Irmgard England), greeting his neighbours whenever he saw them. He and Irma loved gardening and enjoyed dancing and gathering with friends. It wasn’t unusual to see him enjoying afternoon Happy Hour with his neighbors on a regular basis.
Andy is survived by his wife Irma, his son Andrew, his stepchild Ralph England, and his step
grandchildren and great grandchildren Shane, Savanah, Jasmin and Mary. He was preceded by
his stepdaughter Cornelia. Andy’s family of origin and relatives are scattered around Austria and
Slovenia.
No formal service will be held; however, friends and family will gather later in the year to raise a
toast to our dear friend, husband, father and grandfather. He remains in our hearts and is missed
very much.

Dear Irma,
Please accept our sincere sympathy on the loss of your Andy.
We were privileged to meet Andy and Irma through our mutual friends Dave and Lillian.
We always enjoyed our little visits with you both.
Andy was a great guy! He took such pride in his lovely home and beautiful back yard. Always welcoming for a glass of wine and good conversation!
Rest in peace Andy … thank you for the memories!
