In Loving Memory
Alice Burns Tennant
Alice Burns Tennant, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2024, at her home in Kamloops. BC. Her unwavering faith in God and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through her final chapter of life.
Alice was born to Arthur and Emma Mack on September 22, 1934, in Grandview, Manitoba—the second youngest of nine children. Memories of living on the farm with her eight siblings (Wesley, Murney, Walter, John, Margaret, Eva, Doug and Blain), who all predeceased her, were shared until her passing.
Mom met the love of her life, Bud, while visiting Tennant’s Garage with her father. They spent 68 years of marriage together while raising a family of four (Marilyn, Emma, Louise, and Norrie). Mom faithfully cared for her family, putting their needs ahead of hers. She was a woman of faith and the heart of the family.
Alice’s love extended beyond her immediate family. Her thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren were all recipients of her boundless love and care. Her wish was for her Christian legacy to continue in their lives. Alice also held a special place in her heart for her nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Retirement was a time of newfound freedom and zest for life for Alice. She enthusiastically embraced her hobbies, from lawn bowling to curling, and enjoyed the opportunity to travel. Her retirement was a long, fun-filled chapter of her life, spent doing the things she loved with her beloved husband, Bud, until his passing in 2022.
Her memory and love will be with us all until we meet again.
As per our mom’s request, we will not be holding a funeral. Instead, we will have a family celebration to remember her.

My prayers and hugs for Alice’s family.
Aunt Alice was a very special lady, kind, sweet and very funny. I enjoyed our visits with her when I was younger and our phone calls in recent years. You will be missed and loved for eternity.
Love Jen Karran (Norman and Eva Highfield’s Granddaughter)
