Terry Allan Little
Terry Allan Little of Kamloops, BC, passed away peacefully at home on April 7, 2023, with family by his side, after a long battle with cancer.
Terry was born March 4, 1940 in Portland, Oregon to Morris Thorpe and Helen Dorothy. In 1967, he married his first wife, Susan; with whom he had a son, Mark.
Terry attended Oregon State University, earning a degree in Forestry, after which he spent 6 years in the U.S. Military Special Forces as a Green Beret and instructed at West Point. Terry then returned to the forest industry, moving to Seattle, Washington and working in lumber sales with Weyerhaeuser. In 1987, Terry was transferred to Canada to work at Weyerhaeuser in Kamloops, B.C., where he married Charlotte Elizabeth Williams in 1994, and retired in 1995.
Lovingly known to his friends and family as “Gramps”, Terry loved the outdoors and spent his retirement hunting, and fishing with his brother John up in Alaska, and closest friends Tony and Dick off the West coast of B.C. He loved to woodwork and spent a lot of time building things for his grandson Austin as well as assisting in many home renovations with his step-daughter Melissa, of whom he was very fond of.
Terry is survived by his brother John Little Sr., his first wife Susan, son Mark Wallen Little (Erica), wife Charlotte Little, step-daughter Melissa Severs (Steve), step-son Bryan Williams (Jennifer), grandchildren Soren, Freya, Austin and Josh, as well as nephews John Little Jr. (Bertie), Martin Little, Brian Little and many close friends.
Terry was pre-deceased by his twin sister Maggie in 2010.
At Terry’s request, his ashes will be spread in the view of the Mt. Hood Summit behind his family’s “Judd Cabin” in Oregon.
If anyone wishes to make a donation, his charity of choice was the Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation, presently of 2361 Hyland Blvd, Staten Island, NY, USA.
Gramps’s strong, yet kind personality and many stories of his past life adventures will be sadly missed.
