Mary Elizabeth Churchill Sobolewski

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Mary Elizabeth Churchill Sobolewski of Kamloops B.C. passed away on July 3^rd, 2026 at the age of 89. December would have been her 90^th birthday.

She is survived by her daughter, Lea (Chris) and granddaughters, Marissa and Madison, her son Darrell (Maryann) and grandchildren, Kayla, Keira and Colin, her brother, Wally and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Joe.

Mary had a quiet yet caring demeanor with a strong sense of humor. She was well liked by all who she met. She will be remembered for her excellent pie and cookie making talents. In her pass time, she would knit, do puzzles, read and always loved music and dancing. She shared those activities with her daughter and grandchildren. She always carried fond memories of family visiting from BC, Alberta and Ontario. Those visits always included her baking (of course), a game of Skip Bo and movie nights. Mary and Joe loved traveling in their RV going to the coast, Oregon, and even Alaska and to the East coast of Canada. A fond memory her and her daughter shared is their girls’ trip to Maui for her 81^st birthday (she even got to meet “Elvis”).

A special thank you to Tonia, who helped take care of her and became a good friend to Mary in her last few years.

Her resting place will be at Kamloops Hillside Cemetery. She will be resting alongside her father, Randolph and her mother, Alice.

She will be missed.
