In Loving Memory

Linda Rose Danielson

In loving memory of

Linda Rose Danielson (nee Isaaks)

Following a brief illness, Linda went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2026 at the age of 80. She was born Linda Rose Isaaks on September 19, 1945 in Vancouver, the eighth of nine children.

After growing up in Abbotsford, Linda moved to Toronto to attend the Salvation Army’s College for Officer Training, after which she was sent to pastor Salvation Army churches in BC, first in Coquitlam and then in Fernie. But, encountering new life in the Spirit through the charismatic renewal in the 1960s, “Lieutenant Isaaks” concluded her pastoral ministry and moved to Vancouver to join the hundreds of young people attending St. Margaret’s Church.

In 1975 she married Paul Danielson and, in 1980, Paul and Linda and their family joined a group of others from St. Margaret’s (now West Coast Christian Fellowship) to move to Vernon to establish Vernon Christian Fellowship.

Life in Vernon was full for Linda—raising young children; involvement in church leadership (Paul served as an elder for four decades); helping to lead home groups, Alpha groups, and prayer groups; singing on worship teams; running a small business; working as a Teaching Assistant for the Vernon School District; volunteering with the Victims’ Assistance Program (Vernon RCMP); and helping Paul drive groups of young people to Mexico for missions work every summer for about a dozen years—in a bus with no air-conditioning.

While recovering from cancer surgery in her 50s, Linda ran her first marathon in Penticton and, in subsequent years, ran two more (in Vancouver and Victoria). She loved spending time with her family (especially the grandchildren), gardening, compiling jazz favorites into playlists, and laughing at Paul’s jokes. Most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior, and was always seeking to know Him better.

Linda is survived by: her husband Paul; their four children—Joel (Rhonda), Heather (Mark), Jason (Rebecca), and Susan (Josh); nine grandchildren; three siblings—Sally, Jake (Sharon), and Erna; other relatives and countless friends. She will be remembered with much love and appreciation.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 25th 1:00 p.m. at the 29th Street Centre (home of Vernon Christian Fellowship), 4506 – 29th St., Vernon.
