In Loving Memory
Montgomery Gilbert Peterson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Monty Gilbert Peterson on May 30, 2026, at the age of 66. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and son.
Monty was born September 30, 1959, in Saskatchewan. He spent his childhood years in Saskatchewan (Estevan, Torrington and Uranium City) with parents, Roy and Gertrude (Gertie) and older sister, Cathy. When Monty was twelve the family decided to move to Fort Nelson, BC where Monty attended high school and started his career with Westcoast Energy.
In 1985, Monty met his lifelong partner, Kim, who had recently relocated to Fort Nelson. They welcomed their first daughter, Nicole, in the spring of 1988. Not long after, their second daughter, Robin, was born in 1989.
Monty and Kim raised their girls in northern BC (Fort Nelson and Chetwynd), where they spent their time enjoying the outdoors, fishing and camping, and creating countless memories. Monty continued to work for Westcoast Energy (Duke/Spectra) for 35 years and was passionate about the people he worked with.
Monty and Kim retired to his favourite place, on the lake where he could boat, fish, listen to the loons, and spend time with his wife, family and pets. Travelling in the motorhome and abroad were some of his favourite activities.
He was a caring and thoughtful man who always put his family and friends first. He will be remembered for the love of his family and pets, his passion for safety, his thirst for debate and the continuous support of his daughters.
He will be deeply missed. We will always remember his unwavering love, the values he instilled and the countless memories.
Monty is survived by his wife, Kim, his children Nicole and Robin (Mitchell), granddaughter, Aveline, sister Cathy, sister-in-law Chris (Keith), and nieces and nephew. He is predeceased by his mother and father (Gertie and Roy).
Until we meet again.
At Monty’s request, there will be no funeral service.
