Heather Brady

Beloved mother, grandmother and friend Heather Brady (née Wilson) passed away on May 11, 2026, in Kamloops, B.C., after a short illness in hospital. She was 76.

Heather was born in Vancouver, B.C., and raised in the Sunningdale neighbourhood in Trail, where she had fond memories of riding her motorcycle. After high school, she moved to Kamloops and attended the Royal Inland Hospital School of Nursing and became an R.N. in 1970. Kamloops was also where she met her former spouse, Brian, who she married in 1972.

After the birth of her two daughters, Heather and her family moved to Castlegar, B.C. There, she continued work as a nurse, added a son to her family and worked in home support until her retirement. She remained in Castlegar until 2022, when she moved back to Kamloops.

She is survived by her three children, Christine (Brian), Jill (Ryan) and Sean, and six grandchildren, Jack, Calla, Lucas, Angus, Mahala and Maren, all of whom she loved to the moon and back. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Isabel and Gerald, and her sister, Lynn.

She leaves behind many dear friends, siblings, nieces and nephews and a legacy of care and kindness. Heather passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by love, overlooking the Alumnae Tower at Royal Inland Hospital where she lived and studied many years ago.

Heather loved her pets, creating art, traveling to visit her family, renovating and refinishing, and dreaming of her favourite Saab 900 Turbo. Her kindness, love and attention has left an indelible mark on us all. TTFN.
