In Loving Memory
Beverley Ann Johnston

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beverley Ann Johnston of Kamloops, BC, on May 4th, 2026, at 76 years of age. Beverley is survived by her loving husband, Vernon Johnston, as well as her brother Ron Townley of Campbell River, BC. Bev was predeceased by her father, Bill Townley, in 2004, and her mother, Violet Townley, in 2006.
Bev was born in Winnipeg, MB, on August 10th, 1949. She moved from Charleswood (Winnipeg) to Salmon Arm in December 1957 and graduated from Salmon Arm Secondary in 1968. Her first job was as a receptionist and, later, office manager for Dr. Cindy in Salmon arm. Bev moved to Kamloops in 1974 and worked several jobs until she was hired on at Bethlehem Co-op Mine. Bev developed the computer-generated maintenance schedule for all the machines at the mine.
Bev was very active in the horse world. She trained her own animals and gave lessons to young riders. She was active in the Canadian Cutting Horse Association and joined the Board of Directors where she developed the computer system to track all competitions for horses and riders. Bev won many awards including top points for rider and top points for horse.
Bev met her husband-to-be at a curling bonspiel in 1999, and they were married in 2001. Together her and Vernon travelled extensively and spent many winters in Arizona and Mexico.
A Celebration of Bev’s Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC.
