Nikolas “Nick” Martselos

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Nick Martselos at the age of 85.

At just 16 years old, Nick came to Canada on an adventure and built an extraordinary life through hard work, determination, and his gift for building relationships. He became a legacy in his hometown, creating two Royal Knight restaurants, Cloud 9 Night Club and Papa Nick’s, centered around food and bringing people together.

Nick was a very private and serious person, but if you were ever privileged enough to see his fun side, you were a true friend.

His life is a testament to what is possible with courage, heart, and perseverance. He was a valued community member who touched many people’s lives (and stomachs). His legacy will live on in the community he built and the family he loved so deeply.

He was a proud and strong man, deeply devoted to his family. He was loved by his wife, Evelyn, his children Anthony, Ioanna, and Gerry, and all of his grandchildren, who will always remember him as Papa Nick.
