In Loving Memory
Eric Burton Willey

Eric Burton Willey, a man of unwavering strength and faith, passed away peacefully in Vernon, British Columbia, on April 15, 2026, at 8:41 AM. After a courageous and hard-fought battle with lung cancer, Eric is now at rest, away from the body and home with the Lord.
“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8
Born in Magog, Quebec, on August 26, 1955, Eric lived a life defined by resilience and passion. He was a man who truly embraced the beauty of the world around him. An avid outdoorsman, Eric found his greatest peace while fishing, hunting, and hiking. He was never more at home than when he was in the wilderness or surrounded by his family.
“In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.” — Psalm 95:4-5
Eric was known for his sharp mind and his even sharper opinions. He loved a spirited conversation about politics and never backed down from a good debate. Beneath his strong, opinionated exterior was a man of immense heart; he was one of the strongest men in his family, a man who likely could have held his own even in his final days. He loved deeply, and his care for others extended further than many truly knew.
For the last seven years, Eric shared a beautiful and devoted love with his partner, Diane. Her companionship was a source of great joy and strength in his life.
Eric’s legacy lives on through his four children: Amy, Amanda, Erica, and Brad. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Cailum, Kurtis, Clayton, Van, Burton, Billy, Alexis, and Kai. He is survived by his twin brother Del and his sisters Frances, Jean, Sheila, Doris, and Grace. He will be profoundly missed by his family, who will cherish every memory of the conversations shared and the wisdom he passed down.
While his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, his family rejoices in the knowledge that he has finished his race and is now in the presence of his Creator.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
