Trevor Anthony Stevenson
Trevor Anthony Stevenson, known to many as Trev and Papa, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at the Vernon Hospice House in Vernon, British Columbia, at the age of 67.
Trevor was born on April 26, 1958, in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. He dedicated 30 years of service to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), a career that reflected his strong sense of duty, fairness, and commitment to helping others. After retiring from the RCMP, Trevor worked at Home Depot, where he enjoyed being creative and helping people solve problems, something that came naturally to him.
Trevor shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Terry, building a life grounded in love, patience, and partnership while creating a home for anyone who needed it.
He was a kind, thoughtful, and steady presence to everyone who knew him. Trevor had a quiet and dependable nature and was someone people could turn to when things were difficult. He valued learning, encouraged others to grow, and was always willing to lend a hand or share advice.
Trevor enjoyed reading, watching movies, cycling with Cops for Kids, and spending time with family. In the kitchen, he became known for his amazing cookies and waffles, which were always welcomed and rarely lasted long.
To his family, Trevor was everything, a devoted husband, caring father, and incredibly proud grandfather. Nothing lit him up more than time spent with his grandson Maddox.
Trevor was famously calm and even keeled, earning the nickname “Eeyore” from friends because he rarely became elevated except, they joked, when his son managed to push the right buttons.
Trevor will be deeply missed by his wife Terry, his children Sean and Kayla, his daughter-in-law Melissa, his grandson Maddox, and his siblings Kevin Stevenson, Mike Stevenson, and Sherry Melney, along with numerous extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Jean Walker Stevenson and his father Marvin Stewart Stevenson.
Trevor’s quiet strength, steady presence, and kindness left a lasting mark on everyone, fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
To honor Trevor’s memory, the family encourages others to help someone in need, offer kindness wherever you can, and be a steady hand in the world when it is needed most.

I had the privelege of serving with Trevor in two postings, Kimberley from ’84 to ’90 and again in Armstrong from ’99 to ’03. His demeanor never changed, steady to the wheel, never flustered, and of course, a traget of lots of pranks for sure. Our friendship with Terry and Trevor, Sean and Kayla started before the kids were born and has lasted decades. My favorite memory of Trevor was the tenacity and determination he displayed in putting his nose to the grind stone and getting in good enough shape to complete the “Kops for Kids” grueling ride through southern B.C. So sorrry for the loss of such a young at heart friend.

Trevor made the best chocolate chip cookies! He and Sean would bring them to the fair grounds when we’re there for 4 h! Fresh warm cookies, yummy, and always enough for the whole group!
I am sure Trevor wondered what he got himself into, marrying Terry and joining our crazy large family! He would sit back in his quiet way and try to make sense of a dozen conversations going on between 8 people! Once in a while sending a one liner that made us all bust out laughing!
Trevor, you will be missed by one and all.
