In Loving Memory

Calvin Bert Pedersen

Calvin Pedersen

April 11, 1954 – November 25, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cal Pedersen on November 25, 2025, at the age of 71 years.

Cal was born on Vancouver Island in Comox, BC and came from very humble beginnings. He left school early to work with his dad in logging camps. Later, on the advice from his father to “get out of the bush”, he apprenticed as a Lineman in the late 1970’s and worked for BC Hydro and other companies within the industry for over 30 years. Challenging economic times in the early 1980’s saw him move east to Ontario for a winter with the family before returning to the island. His trade also took him to the Northwest Territories for several weeks at a time to provide for his family. Together they would make several more moves around the province in the 1990’s for work (Golden and 100 Mile House) before eventually settling in Vernon.

His fondest memories were time spent with his family, camping and fishing at his favourite place on earth, Lake Revelstoke. In retirement, before illness, they would spend winters in Arizona enjoying the warm weather, hiking and exploring the area. Later in life, he became quite a talented artist after having taught himself to draw, paint and make jewelry.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Shari, son Kyle and his wife Trista, his grandchildren Alyssa and Graham and his daughter Julie and her husband Cory. He is predeceased by his parents Olaf and Muriel, daughter Jennifer and his best fur buddy, Jackson.

Thank you to everyone who has already reached out to offer condolences. Our family greatly appreciates your kindness at this difficult time. As per his wishes, there will be no celebration of life held. Instead, please remember him fondly in your own personal way.
