In Loving Memory
Timothy Andrew Soichuk

Tim Soichuk passed away on October 28, 2025. Life became just too much for him to cope. He is survived by his mom, Maureen. He is predeceased by his sister, Tasha, and his dad, Phil. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Marissa, his Uncle Keith Sangster, his Aunt Cathy and Uncle Shaun Marsden, cousins Bryan Roberts, Scott and Paul Marsden and their families, and various other aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by a wonderful group of friends that loved and supported him.
Tim was born in Vernon in 1986 and graduated from Clarence Fulton in 2004. He loved playing rugby and football, which he continued to play for several years with the Jackals rugby team and the flag football league. He was an avid Steelers fan and Sunday football get togethers with his buddies was his favorite sacred pastime. His kind heart led him to volunteer for the Humane Society, and thus became a foster parent for needy dogs. He loved his time with Bella and Gray. There will be a gathering of family and friends on November 28, at 7:00pm, at The Army & Navy Club in Vernon to share stories and pictures.

Oh Maureen, my heart aches for you. You are in my thoughts.
We only just reconnected after so many years, and I’m deeply saddened to learn of your untimely passing. You were a true powerhouse on the football and rugby field, and an even better person off of it.
Rest peacefully, old friend.

Dear Soichuk family and friends,
I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss.
Tim was my coworker at the City of Vernon. Our desks were beside each other and I came to know him pretty well.
His customer service was exemplary. There were times you would find him in the reception area helping a senior sign up for our online services. This created relationships, and customers would return to City Hall looking for his help when the next billing was due.
Tim was the only male member of the front facing team and his size and demeanor always earned him respect. Inside of him was a big heart. Oh, his stubbornness came out sometimes too.
Tim and I had great laughs together as I teased him about his fear of spiders and some of his lifestyle choices during the period he worked here. At one point I put plastic spiders around his desk, which resulted in some jumping and a few screams. In return he called me Cruella De Vil, so I dressed up as her one Halloween at the office. I am 20 years older than Tim but somehow, we just connected.
He often spoke of his love of Rugby, and how he liked to help the young players out. I can picture him shaking his smoothie bottle while describing his dinner of chicken and rice and spices and vegetables. I can smell onion and garlic powder as I write this. He was trying to focus on his fitness journey.
Although we hadn’t spoken in a long time, I thought of him often and hoped he was doing well and overcoming his struggles.
Please know that my heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time.
Please accept my condolences on the passing of Tim. I am so sorry to hear. Theresa
