In Loving Memory

Delores Mabel Verhey

Delores was born on April 6th, 1936 in Dauphin, Manitoba. Delores was predeceased by her husband Gilbert Verhey.

Delores will be lovingly remembered by her children ; David, Carol and Tim(Robie) her grandchildren; Amanda(Jeremy), Amy(Justin) Tarynn(Brandon), Rochelle(Francis) and Saphire. She will also be missed by her last surviving sister; Gail, her nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

Delores met her husband to be at the Salvation Army College. They both became pastors for the church and were posted in various towns and cities across Canada. They were happily married for 35 years before God called Gilbert home in 1994.

Delores loved her music playing the organ and piano accompanying congregational singing in various places. Camping was the enjoyment of her holidays when the kids were young. She was very involved with her church and spent each of her days praising god as her relationship with him was important to her.

A private family graveside burial took place at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday September 29th.

  1. Susan Kowalchuk (Verhey) says:

Delores was my Mother-in-law for 20 Years. I have very fond memories of Sunday Dinners that always included a delicious dessert. She made the best Minced Meat Cream Pie at Christmas time and the Best Perogies I have ever had. Her Dutch Butter cake was to die for and her turkey dinners always made me wish that Christmas came every month so I could enjoy her company and a good meal with my family. Family is everything and I have so many pictures of my two girls with their Grandma and Grandpa that make me smile to this day. I will miss her and look forward to seeing her again in Heaven one day. Rest In Peace Delores.
