In Loving Memory

Bruno “Wilfred” Bednarz

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Bruno Wilfred Bednarz on September 8th, 2025, in Vernon, BC. Wilfred was born September 21st, 1939, in Pleasant Valley, Saskatchewan to Stanislaus & Maria Bednarz.

Wilfred married his beautiful bride Reta on August 15th, 1962. Together, they welcomed their children Kevin and Kelly, and later, their granddaughter Samantha, who all lovingly remember him. He spent much of his time with family, caring for their hobby farm together. He was a family man first and foremost, and will always be remembered as an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. A good man.

Throughout his life, Wilfred enjoyed many different hobbies, sports, and jobs. He was passionate about sports, participating in curling, baseball, golf, and hockey, and was a hockey coach in his younger years. He was the true definition of a jack of all trades. He enjoyed working with his hands, so naturally spent time working on the pipeline, and in construction, building just about anything and everything. He also spent many years as a truck driver working for Buckerfields, OK Ready Mix, and the Ministry of Highways. Wilfred was an outstanding member of the community, and when not at work, he was often volunteering and spent years with the Fire Department.

A private family celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Wilf was someone I considered a friend for many years. I have nothing but respect for him. He always had time to talk and I enjoyed visiting with him. Getting to know him even better the last few years when he welcomed me into his family has been an exceptionally great experience for me. I will miss him dearly and may he rest in peace. Love you Wilf and hope to see you again if there is a place for people like us!!!!
