In Loving Memory

Mary Lillian Walkerdine

Mary Lillian Walkerdine (nee Turner) passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025 at Piccadilly Seniors Community in Salmon Arm, BC at the age of 90 years.

Mary was born on June 5, 1935 in Northamptonshire, England, the second oldest of five children. While growing up in England Mary met her love Ronald and they were married on March 5, 1955. They were happily married for 60 years before his passing in 2016. Mary and Ron immigrated to Canada in 1957 first living in Vancouver before moving to country life in Langley. They later moved to Enderby in 1982 building their dream home in the Deep Creek area. Here Mary enjoyed her huge vegetable garden, beautiful flower beds and good country living. Mary loved animals and over the years she had dogs, cats, goats and cows. Mary woke up every morning thankful to Lord for letting her see another beautiful day. Her faith was strong and Mary’s unwavering beliefs got her through her many years of illnesses. Each and every day mattered to Mary and she made every day count by living life to the fullest. Music was one of her passions, she especially loved her hymns and you would often hear her singing along while working around the home or gardens.

Mary passed on her many loves to her two children son, Raymond, (Selina) daughter, Angela (Shane), four grandchildren Adam (Tara), Nicole, Nancy, Kevin (Stacy) and nine great grandchildren Colbey, Madison, Peyton, Evalea, Anna-Rose, Hailey, Devin, Rhys and predeceased by Jaxen.

Our Mum/Nana/G-Nana will be greatly missed by her family and will be forever in our hearts. Knowing she has reunited with Dad/Papa/G-Papa and that she is with her Heavenly Father brings us peace as we cherish our memories of her life well lived. Her perseverance and faith through her many health challenges are an example to live by and we will do our best to live life fully and graciously.

The family would like to thank Piccadilly Seniors Community and their staff for the care they gave Mary over the last 2 1/2 years. They made her final home more enjoyable and comfortable. Many caregivers  grew to love Mary’s infectious laugh and smile. The family will never forget the love and care they gave to Mum.

We would also like to thank Dr. Goldberg for his care over the many years to Mary and the support he provided to her daughter Angela through some of the challenging years.

A private family service will be held October 9, 2025 followed by a private interment of cremated remains at Cliffside Cemetery in Enderby.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC or BC Cancer in Mary’s name.
