Fern Grace Shields

Fern Grace Shields was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba, on July 3, 1947. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—tending to her garden, dancing to good music, sharing food and a good laugh. She especially cherished making Lefsa with her sister Ruth, a tradition that always brought smiles and stories.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Priscilla (husband Adam); her grandchildren Tyson, Cody (Bri), and Emma; her siblings Shirley, Beatie, and Percy; and her great-grandchild Kayce. Fern is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Ivar and Marion, and her sisters, Marie and Ruth.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a cause close to your heart.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital 6th floor staff for going above and beyond in their care for Fern.

I also want to thank my Dear Auntie Bea, who is 80 years old, traveling by plane from Saskatchewan to be with me through this very painful time for me. I love you Auntie. You are my Angel.

There will be a viewing for those who would like to say their goodbyes in person, on Monday, August 18^th, 2025 from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Cypress Funeral & Cremation Services – 2980 Smith Drive Armstrong, BC.
