Christina (Tina) Dane

With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Christina (Tina) Dane on June 28, 2025.

Tina was known for her warmth, resilience, and many talents — an extraordinary seamstress, knitter, and cook whose hands were always busy creating and caring. She raised six children with unwavering dedication and love, nurturing a home filled with strength, laughter, and good food.

In 1985, Tina and her beloved husband Henk fulfilled a dream together by opening Le Chef Restaurant in Nanaimo, where they worked tirelessly side by side until their retirement in 1992. Their restaurant became a local favorite, known not just for its food but for the love poured into every dish.

Tina had a passion for travel and cherished every visit with her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and perseverance. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family throughout Canada and Holland.

She was predeceased by her husband Henk and their dear son Robert, and we take comfort knowing they are reunited.

Tina’s life will be honored in a private family gathering. In her memory, please share a story, a meal, or a moment with someone you love — just as Tina so often did.
