Elsbeth (Betty) Knodel nee Offenloch

Born in Ingelfingen, Germany to Maria & Herman Offenloch. The second child of five. Elsbeth was predeceased by her father Herman Offenloch, her husband Helmut Raschke, her husband Josef Utz, her mother Maria Offenloch, her brother Friedrich Offenloch, her husband Edwin Knodel, her sister Irmgard Luptowitsch (nee Offenloch) and her brother Herbert Offenloch.

She moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in the 1960’s. She was married shortly after to Helmut Raschke. They had three sons, Richard, Johannes and Stephen. The family moved to B.C. in the late 1960’s. Elsbeth was known by many as ‘Betty’. She loved her cats, gardening, writing letters, reading, swimming and singing.

Elsbeth is survived by her son Richard (Leah); son Johannes (Charleen) & son Stephen (Cindy), by her grandchildren: Aaron, Ben, Sarah, Micah, Stefanie, Dylan, Megan, Jared, Brittany & Everett, her brother Wolfgang (Angelica), her nieces and nephews, and by her 6 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Betty’s Life will take place on October 12th, 2024, at 10:00am at the First Baptist Church in Kamloops, BC. An interment will take place on October 12th, 2024 at 4:00pm at the Clearwater Cemetery in Clearwater, BC.
