Edna Margaret Ferguson nee Langin January 14,1928-July 19, 2024
Edna was born in Pincher Creek Alberta on January 14,1928, the youngest of five children born to Larkin (Ebenezer Larkin)and Nessie (Agnes Jane) Langin.
Edna attended the Saint Eugene School of Nursing in Cranbrook, BC, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1949. Other than a short period of employment at Saint Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, her nursing career was in Cranbrook, at Saint Eugene Hospital, Cranbrook Regional Hospital and the Public Health Home Nursing program.
Edna was a Past Matron of Jubilee Chapter #64, Order of the Eastern Star and was an active lifetime member of the Cranbrook United Church. Community involvement and inclusion were priorities in her life.
In 1950, Edna married Charles Fred Ferguson (Charlie) and they were married for 50 years when Charles died in 2004.
Being outdoors was a love of Edna’s and in her healthier years she enjoyed golf, curling, cross country skiing, hiking and camping.
Edna is survived by her daughters: Leslie Ferguson and Kelly Ferguson; four grandchildren: Kelly Khemiri (Sem), Kevin Ferrier (Kaileen), Shawn Ferrier and Ashlee Ferguson; two great grandchildren: Amayah Khemiri and Elias Khemiri; neices: Colleen Wadstein, Wendy Budd, Loay Curry; and four cousins: Clifford, Robert (Bob), Herbert and Marianne Langin.
She was predeceased by both her parents, brother, Douglas Langin, and sisters, Isabel Budd, Agnes Bishop and Lorna Wadstein.
Edna and Charlie, along with Dorothy and Ed Hinton and Loren and Betty Bay, successfully operated the Cranbrook Discount Foods for 15 years.
In Edna’s recent years, she moved to Vernon to be close to her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

The family will be holding a small, private gathering to honour Edna’s life.
