Bob was my good friend when we both worked in Quesnel. He with RCMP and I with DFO. Off duty, we played hockey, traveled to Oldtimers Tournaments and fished together. He was a wonderful guy full of life, fun and always smiling.
I will surely miss my friend.
Our condolences to his family and many friends.

Dear Patti, kids and extended family. Both Susan and I are shocked & sad to hear of Bob’s untimely passing today. So unfair at this time with more retirement days ahead. Bob was always such a light of joy and humor when on serious and often tragic investigations in Courtenay. He is remembered fondly for his laugh,
..his pride of the Force, his commitment to the community and his support and love to his fellow members on the watch. Those Courtenay days were so special! Thank you. .PJ

I went through training with Bob in 1978, Troop 3. Such a great guy to keep your spirits up. He kept us laughing and was always willing to lend a hand. Taken from his family way too soon but cherish the good times you had.

Patti and family so sorry for your loss. Bob and I go back to the old high school days at BCI. We had a few adventures in those days and bring back a lot of fond memories. We lived just down the back lane from each other. Bob would often stop by the house to get me dad steaming mad the next day. My dad loved his olives and Bob would clean out the jar of both the olives and the juice, which of course my dad wouldn’t find out until the next day. We had a lot of fun together with the east end crew….RIP buddy.

Bob and I played football together and went to university in Brandon The team was known as the Brandon Krugers and he had so many friends on the team. I know his brother Dan. The guy had this great sense of humor . Talked a little when he left but have not seen him for years.
I am sorry for your loss and wished that I could have met you.
    Sincerely,
    Rod Zenk

I am sorry for your loss. I’m a tad late sending this but a friend just sent it to me . I missed it in the Brandon Sun.Bob and I go a long way back when we took Judo . We spent countless hours trying to master the art. Bob and I always placed in tournaments usually first or second place. When we entered a tournament we would take turns fighting in different divisions. We both weighed 139 pounds . I would take the 154 pound and under and he the 139 or vice versa. We would win both divisions but the main thing was we didn’t have to face each other as the fight was so hard as we were evenly matched and new each others tricks to the tee. Bob and I moved to Calgary hoping to further our techniques and the 1976 Olympics was always a goal in the backs of our minds. We both had won Black belt competitions from Dryden Ontario to Leftbridge Alberta. We set out one night in Calgary to join the only club we could find. When we got there we were the only ones there. Calgary just didn’t have a club like leftbridge had.I talked to Bob and was on my way to visit but Covid came and stopped my journey. I have a picture of Bob and I with our trophies and a good story of a tournament if you want email and I will send it to you
