In Loving Memory

Brian Michael Lynch

It is with great sorrow that we announce Brian’s passing in a workplace incident in Prince Rupert, BC on October 15, 2023.

Brian is survived by, and will be sadly missed, by his mother Josephine Lynch, siblings Gregory Lynch (Simone), Marnie Campbell (Larry), Susan Lynch (Jim), Teresa Barach, Lisa Lynch (Joe), his nieces and nephews, Dan, Michelle, Mark, Carolyn, Jocelyn, Jason, Jesse, Simon, Emily, Nicholas, Sarah, Nathan and his great nieces and nephews Ruby, Jude, Dezi, Colt, Carter, Evan, Casey, Milo, Oliver, Kennedy, Quinn.  Brian is predeceased by his father Joseph Lynch.

Brian was raised in Gananoque where he graduated from Gananoque Secondary School.  His love of the water and fishing, from the first time he could hang on to a pole, took him to BC.  Brian began his life then as a tender on a salmon fishing boat that led him to getting his commercial diving licence in his early 20’s.  He managed to save enough to purchase his first boat and began a lifelong love affair and career with fishing, diving and the sea.  He furthered this dream with two additional boats. He made many, many friendships among kindred spirits and gained the nickname of “Crawdad” from his BC diving buddies.  Brian was well known throughout his community as a kind and generous person with a gift of spreading joy and laughter with everyone he knew. Brian was an avid reader and loved movies to the point of having a huge collection of all genres.  Although being away from his home and family he never lost touch. He called his family frequently and always made a trip home every year. Brian’s tremendous spirit will be with us always.

Donations on Brian’s behalf will be graciously accepted at:

A Family gathering will be held on the shores of the St. Lawrence in 2024 in Brian’s honour.  It will feature a fishing derby aptly named the “Crawdad Classic”.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Brian on Friday December 1, 2023 at the Gananoque Curling Club from 12pm to 3pm.  Family and Friends are all welcome to attend.
