In Loving Memory
Ivan Joseph Luketic
A joy to so many, Ivan Joseph Luketic passed away peacefully on September 16th, 2023, at the age of 88 years. His endless touching and humorous stories of life in the old country and many years of working at the Pulp Mill won’t soon be forgotten. Spending his final 4 years in Overlander Residential Care, nurses called him a “fan favorite” because of his friendly nature and warm personality. He loved his daily dose of coffee and cookies and was always saying “Hi Hi” to everybody.
In his younger days, he loved doing photography and left behind a wonderful collection of life memories that will forever be treasured now. He loved going on road trips and exploring new places, and always had a love for animals and nature.
During his long service with the Pulp Mill, Dad was loved and respected by so many throughout his time there. Known for being an incredibly hard worker, he could always be counted on for the most difficult tasks and helped anyone he could on the job. Also known as the jokester, dad pulled many pranks on coworkers over the years and could always make people have a good laugh!
Dad’s motto was always “never give up”. Tough as nails, he fought through so many hardships and challenges throughout his life and did it all with a smile. He will forever be remembered for his strength and perseverance, and retaining a positive outlook no matter what life threw at him. His big friendly smile will be sorely missed!
There will never be another like him, and he will truly be missed by so many.
WE LOVE YOU DAD!!!
In lieu of flowers, donations can please be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC instead.
Ivan will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Hillside Cemetery.

My condolences to your family. He was so full of life when we spent time with him when I was younger. He will be missed but will forever be in your heart.
Sending my most heartfelt sympathy to you and your family.
Ivan was very friendly and caring, always asking “how is your day going?”
His beautiful smiles and warm greetings will be dearly missed!
Ivo was very good friends with my parents. He had always made time to talk with my dad, Marko Pavlovic, when the bumped into each other at Aberdeen Mall. You could hear them chatting and laughing all the way through the mall. It was wonderful to see and hear. God Bless

The Luketic Family,
Our Condolences to you. Jim knew Ivan as a fellow worker at Weyerhaeuser from 1972 through 1981. He was always a friendly, cheerful man. May He rest in Peace.
Sincerely, Jim & Sheila West. Merritt BC.
Ivan was a hard working and pleasant person in the Pulpmill, and outside the mill. Ivan and Lou helped my late father Archie Conroy pour a massive cement driveway on Westsyde Road by Viking Estates. The drive way was very steep and there was a real risk of rain, but Ivan kept his cool and we got the job done. When I drive by that location I will never forget him on that day. Yours sincerely Brady Conroy.
