In Loving Memory
Elinor Anne Hagardt (nee Faulkner)
The family of Elinor Anne Hagardt nee Faulkner are sad to announce her death on June 18th in Grindrod.
Mom was born on September 4, 1931 in Merritt to Andrew & Blanche Faulkner. In 1937 they moved to the family home in Enderby.
She married George Hagardt in 1952 and they had five children: Ron (Marg) of Enderby, Dawn (Lorne Hawrys) of Grindrod, Bill (Margot) of Salmon Arm, Cathy (Jeff Lipsett) of Salmon Arm and Bob; 11 grandchildren: Lynne (Kelley Wiker), Brett (John Tino), Erin (Kelly Koskimaki), Trevor Hawrys, Kelsey (Quinn Salt), Devin (Elyse), Jennell (Jordan Stanley), Brianne Hagardt, Alexandra (Clayton Barthel), Bob (Madi) and Erika (Brett Bulmer); 16 great grandchildren; sisters Dawn (Bob Dodds) & Margaret Roy; sisters-in-law Marion Faulkner & Della Faulkner.
Mom was predeceased by her son Bob 1984, husband George 1995, brothers Andy, Jim & Jack, sister-in-law Irene Wilson.
Mom did her schooling 2-12 in Enderby and spoke very highly of Miss Beattie. She attended RIH School of Nursing in Kamloops, graduating in 1952. She worked 42 years at Enderby & District Memorial Hospital. Mom enjoyed meeting with those classmates every year and talked about Rick and Leona often.
She was a member of the IOOF and Rebekah Lodge.
Mom was very athletic, participating in basketball, soft ball, slo-pitch & water skied. She golfed and curled until she was 90.
She was a sharp card player and always kept us on our toes.
Mom loved to travel, visiting Europe x2, Hawaii, China, Ireland, Cuba, Panama Canal, Mexico & USA. She travelled across Canada several times to support grandchildren in their sporting events. She was their greatest fan and very proud of their accomplishments.
She will be in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elinor’s name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

My condolences on the passing of your mom and grandma.
I have fond memories of Aunt Elinor at past family events and working with her at the Enderby hospital. She was a great nurse and always shared what was happening with grandchildren. A truly kind soul and will be remembered with love.
